Last Sunday we strolled around one of the districts in Oslo that is going through a major facelift. We’re talking about the area around the new and fabulous opera building. New buildings arise, designed by well-known architects. New road constructions, which they have been working on for years. This Sunday the whole work area was open to the public. It was the first (and probably last) opportunity to walk through the tunnel that has been built in 6 separate segments in Bergen, towed all the way to Oslo and lowered down in the Oslofjord, so that we in only a few months can drive “underneath” the opera. On the “surface” an idyllic working and living area arises by the waterside.
After visiting the exhibition where a model of the area was displayed and having walked through the tunnel, we relaxed outside the opera building and had a cup of cappuccino.
