Our garden is full of lilacs, both white and purple ones, and right now they smell wonderfully. This evening I brought some of that strong fragrance into the house by cutting off some branches. It’s the lovely smell of spring and summer. Just as our driveway a couple of months ago was covered by snow, it’s now “wrapped up” by lilacs. It’s almost impossible to get our car through without scratching it up.
